Chapter Technology Transfer
The Chapter Technology Transfer Committee (CTTC) provides transfer of current and relevant information throughout the HVAC&R industry within the chapter.
Student Activities
Student Activities (SA) engages with students and provides support, networking and training opportunities in the HVAC field.
We collaborate with student branches from: Conestoga College, University Of Waterloo and
McMaster University
Young Engineers in ASHRAE
The Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) committee provides events and initiatives for young professional ASHRAE members, 35 years old and younger.
There are opportunities for ASHRAE sponsored travel and leadership training for interested YEA members.
Research Promotion
Research Promotion (RP) promotes initiatives to provide support for and collecting funds for the ASHRAE Foundation and scholarships.
The funds raised through the yearly RP drive support the research behind ASHRAE's publications such as Standards and Guidelines. Funds can be designated to ASHRAE Research Canada only. There is currently more than $800,000 in Research in Canada alone!
Government Affairs
Government Affairs (GA) organizes members to educate all levels of government and officials in areas of interest to our members, and to promote effective cooperation between ASHRAE members and government.
Membership Promotion
The Membership Promotion committee manages recruitment efforts, provides resources for people interested in joining ASHRAE, and supports existing members advancement in the society.
Communications
Communications identifies the communication, collaboration and training needs for membership groups, recommends and maintains policies, and ensures that the implementation of information technologies meets the objectives and needs of the chapter. Its pillars include: Airways Newsletter, Membership Email Distribution & Website
Women in ASHRAE
Women in ASHRAE (WiA) promotes the addition and retention of women in the built environment by encouraging opportunities for professional development and leadership. WiA strives to unite women from various occupations including engineering, construction, project management, property development & ownership, equipment sales & manufacturing, architecture and more.
The goal: to foster mentoring relationships among these professions to create a network of women supporting women in our industry.
Sustainability
Sustainability is concerned with the environmental, social and economic impacts of buildings, including effects on ecosystem sustainability and the well-being of building occupants. The committee works to enhance awareness of these issues and the resiliency needed to adapt to a changing climate.
Sustainability develop programs which encourage members to get more involved in their local communities and share the knowledge of members to improve the world around us.
